Too many children across the world fail to achieve their academic potential because they don't have an adequate support system to help them deal with personal or family-related difficulties. Girls in Khayelitsha -  due to the extremely high level of violence experienced, their gender and their young age - are particularly vulnerable to this. The Molo Mhlaba schools want to ensure that this doesn't happen to its students, by providing a well rounded system of support, as well as advice and tools that will help the girls both achieve their academic potential and become informed and empowered adults. It also provides the girls with career talks and visits to research facilities, which offer the girls both a source of inspiration and information, and the possibility to acquire a new perspective on their academic life as a first step towards a successful and fulfilling career.
